"Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire" introduced players to the Hoenn region, where they embark on a journey to become Pokémon Champions. Players capture and train Pokémon, battle Gym Leaders, and thwart the plans of Team Aqua and Team Magma, who seek to control the forces of nature. The games also introduced double battles and 135 new Pokémon species.
